Stainless Steel 316 Flanges description-
Stainless Steel 316 Flanges have great resistance to reducing media, oxidizing agents, atmospheric corrosion and other corrosive agents. It has great workability in polluted marine waters. It has also great resistance to IGC attacks in the welded conditions. It has great toughness and strength at higher temperatures. In the annealed conditions structure of flanges are non-magnetic, however, after the cold working operation, it becomes magnetic in nature. These grade flanges are weldable with all type of standard welding operations. This grade is combined with chromium, nickel, and molybdenum and also it is known as UNS S31600. SS flanges are developed to offer great resistance to abrasion and corrosion. In addition to molybdenum, its general corrosion resistance ability is improved. It has great resistance ability to pitting and crevice corrosion cracking. SS flanges offer a great amount of creep, tensile and stress to rupture strength even in the hoisted temperatures. The different finishing process is exposed in these flanges to attain precise dimensions and surface finish. Industrial coats are added to add prevention from contamination. ASTM A182 F316 Slip On Flanges

Slip On Flanges are great for process piping applications when installation speed is a consideration and pressure ratings are Class 600 or less. The pipe slides through the bore and receives fillet welds on both sides, eliminating leak paths without precision bore alignment. Material costs run 15–20% lower than equivalent Weld Neck units, making them a practical choice for water treatment headers and general process piping in ASTM A182 F316.

 

ASME SA182 SS 316 Weld Neck Flanges

Weld Neck Flanges carry a long tapered hub that distributes bending stress across the weld joint rather than concentrating it at a single fillet. That geometry makes them standard on high-pressure and high-temperature pipelines. Power generation headers, petrochemical reactor feed lines, and offshore riser connections rely on this design because the tapered hub absorbs thermal cycling and surge loads. Pressure classes run to 2500# in sizes up to 24" from standard stock.

 

Stainless Steel 316 Blind Flanges

Blind Flanges close off pipe ends and vessel nozzles, and bolting them off at maintenance intervals gives interior access without cutting the line. Heat exchanger shells, pressure vessel manways, and inspection branches depend on this feature.
